Hygiene Kit and Traditional Medicines Program
Information below includes both the traditional medicines program AND our hygiene kit program. The application is the same for both. Application details are below.
Newly Added: Traditional Medicines Program
We are very excited to launch our ‘Traditional Medicines Care Packages’ for our community, as part of our hygiene kits! When we talk about health, we know that it takes into consideration the whole person- including their spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental health. We launch this program in hopes to support our community to connect with the traditional and land based medicines that nourish us.
*Limited supplies are available for this program.
Each kit includes:
One herbal tea mix
Teas cannot be pre-selected and are based on availability, but options may include: Labrador tea, Miyooayaan Wellness (raspberry leaf, nettle, spearmint, rose, lavender), Cold and Flu (elder flower, peppermint, yarrow), Healthy Bones, Hair, Nails (horsetail, nettle, red clover, rosehips), and Womyn’s Vitality (raspberry, nettle, lemon balm, red clover, oatstraw).
1 Devils club salve
Smokeless Smudge Sprays (cedar; sweetgrass blend)
This program is an extension of our Hygiene kit program. You may choose to receive just the traditional medicines, or both the medicines as well as a hygiene kit.
*The traditional medicine kits are AT CAPACITY. Please apply to be on the waitlist for the next round.
Hygiene Kit Program
About the Program
Hygiene products are essential for daily life, yet they can take up a large portion of a monthly budget—especially for those already facing financial stress. To help ease this burden, SNIWWOC offers free hygiene kits through generous donations from Procter & Gamble, with support from GlobalMedic and Soap For Hope Canada.
Each hygiene kit includes: shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, toothbrush, body lotion toothpaste, menstrual pads, soap, and deodorant.
