General FAQs
How many days should I expect to wait for a response back?
You can expect a reply back between the teams working hours which are until 5pm PST from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). No follow-ups are needed, please wait for a reply as our team is helping multiple clients and responding to each person in order. Therefore, we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
Grocery Program FAQs
How many days should I expect to wait for a response back?
This program has a large volume of applicants and the processing time of applications can be impacted by whether or not applicants have the correct documentation submitted. Due to these two factors we try our best to get back to applicants as soon as possible!
How will I know if my application was received?
You should receive an automated email from SNIWWOC which confirms that your application has been received. If you did not receive a confirmation email then please email us at info@sniwwoc.ca
When will I know if my application was approved?
You will be receiving an email from SNIWWOC whether or not you are eligible, this will depend on what documents you provide in your initial application.
How many days will it take to get the gift cards?
If you have submitted your application with the correct documentation and are eligible for this program, you will receive your gift card as soon as we have processed your application.
how often can I APPLY FOR GIFT CARDS?
You can apply once every three months, while supplies last. Clients are eligible for their first round of gift cards every three months after receiving them. Clients who receive their second gift card in three months must wait another six months to be eligible for the program once again.
Example: Client A can apply in January and receive the gift card, then Client A can also apply again in April, then they would need to wait until October to be eligible for the program once again.
Are the gift cards sent to clients via mail or e-mail?
Our gift cards are sent electronically through email.
What amount can I expect to receive in my gift card?
This is dependent on how many dependents are in your household, and this amount is subject to change.
When will there be new gift cards available?
We aim to open applications at the beginning of each month.
Do I need to have dependents to apply?
No you do not need to have dependents to apply. You can apply with or without dependents.
What documents can i submit as my proof of income? does this differ for people with dependents?
Proof of income can include your Income Tax return, T4, Notice of Assessment, proof of disability, or proof of any other forms of assistance that you receive.
Please make sure when sending in these documents that your name and date issued is clearly stated. Please ensure that you are sending in the most up to date documents.
If you are married or in a common law relationship, please send in their proof of income as well (the same as listed above) if your documentation does not include your household income.
If you are claiming dependents, please send in an ID with a date of birth. This can include government or provincial issued identification, passport, birth certificate, school ID, school registration, or status card.

If you do not have any documents that indicate you are receiving some sort of benefits or assistance (as listed above), please submit a letter from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction to show proof of your unemployment.
