Asian Heritage Month: Special BIPOC Yoga Class

Come and celebrate Asian Heritage Month with SNIWWOC and MA Yoga ! On May 29th from 8am-9am we will be hosting a special FREE BIPOC Yoga class led by an experienced instructor of Asian heritage.

This class will be followed by traditional Asian refreshments & teachings.

Don't miss this special cultural event honouring the Asian culture and peoples!

Meet our facilitator Andrea:

Andrea Ting-Luz (She/Her)

In every place she shows up, Andrea defines her life's purpose, her dharma, her Ikigai as this: "I aspire to live my life in such a way that the light inside of me ignites the light inside of others."

Andrea is an E-RYT500 Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, and has been teaching yoga and movement since 2011. She specializes in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Bellyfit® and the Roll Model Method. She completed her first 200HR YTT with Eoin Finn in 2011, and completed her 300HR Advanced Teacher Training at Semperviva Yoga in 2018. Her teachers and mentors include Natalie Rousseau, Alice Bracegirdle, Clara Roberts-Oss, Bernie Clark, and Jason Crandell. Andrea currently teaches at MA Yoga, Oak Bay Rec, and online from her home in Victoria, and also contributes to training new teachers in various YTT programs, workshops, and yoga conferences.

A woman of Chinese, Filipina, and Spanish heritage, Andrea is honoured to continue to learn, mend, and thrive on the unceded traditional territory of the WSÁNEĆ (Saanich), lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees), Wyomilth (Esquimalt) peoples of the Coast Salish nation. She is currently delving into a Master's of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, to evolve her approach to illuminate the paths towards healing, connection, and embodiment for herself and others.
