Image from iOS (4).png

We will be discussing the unique experiences of womxn in politics, from facing down barriers to campaigning to managing it all! We are so excited to have these political leaders:

- Pauline Greaves - NDP Candidate for Surrey South, BC

- Uzoma Asagwara - MB MLA for Union Station

- Toni Boots - Mayor of Summerland, BC

- Dr. Habiba Mohamud - Liberal Party Candidate for Edmonton Griesbach, AB -

In this event we intend to centre the experience of Black womxn in politics and discuss some of the following things:

  • What is the experience of Black womxn in Canada right now?

  • What is the experience of Black womxn in politics in Canada and what are the barriers that exist for them?

  • Why is there a lack of Black womxn in politics?

  • What are the benefits of Black womxn engaging in politics?

  • What would it look like if Black womxn were leading?

  • What is the hope of Black womxn FOR Black womxn in the public and political space in Canada?

We’re looking forward to learning from them and how we can support them from the election process through their terms in office.
