This event is held on zoom and the link can be found here.

Menstruation; it is a necessary biological function shared and experienced amongst all females. We understand what it’s like to get our first period, to experience the symptoms; unfortunately, we also know about the stigmas attached to our bodies.

This topic remains a widely stigmatized issue. This is because cultures the world over have developed detrimental concepts and beliefs about menstruation.. Because of these taboos surrounding menstruation in many parts of the world, there is a significant lack of health education resources available to people about the menstrual cycle. It is this lack of knowledge that fuels myths which ostracize and humiliate women during their monthly cycles.

Join us to de-stigmatize our cycles, learn more about having better reproductive health, and how we can de-stigmatize our monthly cycles.

Please feel free to contact Cheyenne at cheyenne@sniwwoc.ca with any questions or if you need any assistance with Zoom.

“Bri Aberdeen started her journey towards becoming a birth worker and postpartum aid, in 2014. She realized that the predominant reaction to pregnancy and birth was fear but felt that there should be a healthier dominant response to those prolific transformations. She self taught until 2016 when she attended her initial Holistic Doula training at Pacific Rim College in Victoria BC. Upon becoming a certified birth and postpartum doula she began working with families, and she continued to to self educate and attended various trainings through DONA International. From 2017 to 2020 she served approximately 40 families in their birth and postpartum journeys. In 2021 Bri free-birthed a baby of her own. She continues to learn and be inspired by helping herself and other women claim their power through accessing knowledge, experience, and community support."
