Women in Leadership: A Conversation with Tammy Pham

If you’re a woman (particularly a racialized woman) in certain industries, you’ve probably felt like you’re the “only one” in the room. Or felt like you don't belong or had to prove yourself. Know that you're not alone. According to a study by Leanin.org

and McKinsey & Company, one in five women report being one of the only women in the room. In senior leadership, this is twice as common: 40% of women are the only one. These numbers are much worse for racialized women.

The good news is that we’re talking about it. Even better news: there are ways for you to build the support you need to grow into leadership. We're starting the conversation with Tammy Pham.

Tammy is currently Vice President Operations at a software development company in Victoria. She has 15 years’ experience in client relations, operations, and project management in a variety of industries including information technology. She has over 10 years direct experience in leadership training, process improvement, and strategic planning and execution. She holds a MBA degree from University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Communications.

From an entry level position to an executive position within 5 years, her climb to success in a male dominated industry is attributed to her relentless pursuit of her goals and her refusal to take no for an answer.

Tammy will be sharing advice and inspiration for women who want to #levelup in their careers. Learn about how to be an empathetic and accessible leader. Or maybe you're wondering how to assert yourself as a leader in a way that showcases confidence instead of control/micro-managing. Join us on Zoom.
