The Support Network For Indigenous Women and Women of Colour (SNIWWOC) Hosts Annual Truth and Reconciliation Community Gathering At KWENCH Club on September 30th, 2025 In Victoria, BC
September 2nd 2025 (Victoria, BC): SNIWWOC will be hosting a community gathering to honour Truth and Reconciliation. It is meant for healing, reflection, and celebrating Indigenous culture and heritage.
This years’ annual Truth and Reconciliation will be hosted at KWENCH Club, a strong ally of SNIWWOC, who has shown tremendous generosity and support over the past few years. The founder of SNIWWOC– Boma Brown, shared what this support has meant to their community on social media (view here). Event Attendees will have the honour of hearing from three Indigenous Artists who will speak on the significance of Indigenous textile arts as a powerful expression of heritage and identity.
Jayce Francis: Indigenous Artist
Jayce Francis, a Coast Salish artist from the Tla’amin Nation, creates and teaches beadwork and ribbon skirt-making, sharing her culture through workshops that focus on healing, storytelling, and cultural expression.
Beryl Parke: Social Worker, First Nations Health Authority
Beryl Parke, a member of the Sangalth Stastas Eagle clan, supports Indigenous communities through her work with the First Nations Health Authority, providing health navigation, traditional wellness, crisis response, and community capacity building.
Aldeen Mason: Community Mentor
Aldeen Mason, an Anishinaabe Ikwe and residential school survivor, is a doula, artist, and community mentor who shares her cultural knowledge and lived experiences to support others.
All allies are welcomed and encouraged to attend SNIWWOC’s event to be a support system for the Indigenous community in Victoria, BC. A buffet-style dinner will be served for attendees to enjoy. Through storytelling, textile art, and shared conversation, this gathering fosters connection, honours resilience, and strengthens community bonds.

All of the programming is developed and delivered by BIPOC women.
